At the center of our work is a guiding belief inspired by the buffalo. When storms come, buffalo do not turn away; they move directly through them. With intention and strength, they face what is ahead rather than staying in the storm longer than necessary. We believe healing works the same way. When families are supported to face what is painful with care and connection, they move through it rather than staying stuck.

This is the heart of Dawn: helping children and families move through the storm towards healing, connection, and hope.

Our Story

Dawn began with a simple truth: too many children were struggling, and too many families were carrying the weight alone. What started as a small practice as the Dawn Institute quickly became something deeper. Families weren’t only seeking support for their children. They were searching for understanding, connection, and hope.

Over time, it became clear that true healing is not limited to the child alone but lives within the family system. As the need grew, another reality became impossible to ignore:

many of the families that need care the most could not afford it. Dawn Childhood Foundation was created to ensure that access to healing is never determined by financial circumstance.

At the Dawn Institute, we believe that mental health should be accessible to everyone, not only those who can afford it. To support that mission, we established Dawn Childhood Foundation, an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding access to mental health services and resilience-focused support in our community.

While we share a common vision, Dawn Childhood Foundation operates separately from Dawn Institute. To learn more about clinical services provided through Dawn Institute, you may visit www.dawninstitute.com
