CEO, Licensed Therapist LMFT, DBH

Lorie Kinman

Lorie Kinman serves as Director of Operations and Secretary of the Board at Dawn Childhood Foundation, overseeing all back-office operations. Her connection to DCF is deeply personal. Her sister, Crystal, founded the clinical practice on the belief that every child deserves high-quality care regardless of financial circumstances, and having raised three children of her own, Lorie knew firsthand the struggle of needing support and not finding it. When she saw the difference DCF’s family-centered, wraparound approach was making, she knew she wanted to be part of it.

Lorie brings more than three decades of operational experience to her role, having grown up in her family’s business before rising to Chief Administrative Officer across nine auto body locations. Trained in lean manufacturing principles through ASU, she has a gift for building efficient systems that reduce costs and create space for the real work to happen. A proud Phoenix native, she lives in the Valley with her husband and is mom to three adult children. Lorie believes that when we support struggling families, we change the trajectory of an entire community and she shows up every day to make that possible.

Sara Ray Philips

Sara Phillips, CFRE, serves as Director of Development & Strategic Partnerships at Dawn Childhood Foundation, where she leads fundraising and community partnership efforts that help children and families heal from the effects of trauma. With more than 20 years of nonprofit development experience across the Valley, Sara has had the privilege of working with organizations addressing significant social issues, including children’s mental health, housing instability, homelessness, social inequalities for individuals who are blind or visually impaired, and advancing American Indian art and artists.

As a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) and Arizona native, Sara brings both empathy and heart to her role. She was drawn to Dawn Childhood Foundation’s mission through personal family experiences with childhood trauma and believes deeply in the power of open conversations around mental health and healing. She is especially passionate about the organization’s wraparound approach to care, supporting not only children, but also parents and siblings throughout the healing journey.

Sara values building authentic relationships and creating meaningful connections with the families, donors, and community partners she serves. Outside of the office, she enjoys traveling, hiking, learning new things, and spending time with family and friends.
